The Pleasant Oaks Gem and Mineral Club is organized  to promote interest in the various earth sciences, in particular those areas dealing with the science of gems, minerals and fossils, the art of cutting and polishing gemstones, metal crafts, jewelry arts, and all related fields. The club is a not for profit organization established for charitable and educational purposes.

The Pleasant Oaks Gem and Mineral Club will hold its 41st annual Fall Festival of Gems and Minerals.  The show will be Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st  2008 at the Ellison Miles GeoTechnology Institute (EMGI), Brookhaven College - 3939 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas.  We hope you have the opportunity to join us.

The Pleasant Oaks Gem and Mineral Club publishes a monthly newsletter, the Chips and Chatter.  Recent issues of the Chips and Chatter are available from the internet.  For the latest issue of the Chips and Chatter (July 2008)  in Adobe PDF format, click here .

The club is a member of the "South Central Federation of Mineral Societies" and affiliated with the "American Federation of Mineralogical Societies"

The Pleasant Oaks Gem & Mineral Club and the Dallas Gem & Mineral Society offer a variety of classes in the lapidary arts to club members.  The Clubs also share field trips to both local and regional locations.
