Pleasant Oaks Gem & Mineral Club of Dallas, TexasField Trips

| The Pleasant Oaks Gem & Mineral
Club and
the Dallas Gem & Mineral Society plan field trips monthly to a
number
of local sites. Frequent field trips include such stops as the
North
Sulpher River for fossils, several East Texas location such as Lake
Livingston/Crockett
looking for petrified palm wood, to a gravel quarry near Oklahoma City
where
petrified wood and Alibates flint are found, and out of state trips to
the likes of Arkansas looking for quartz crystals and Colorado looking
for
minerals.
The pictures below are from a Lake Whitney trip. Twenty
two people
found ammonites, echinoids, and a variety of other interesting
fossils.
